A hammer to glass ceilings, but make it fashion.
Who knew that the secret to success was hiding in the optometrist's office? With 67.8% of women wearing prescription eyewear, it turns out glasses are more than just a tool for better vision, they're a proverbial hammer for smashing glass ceilings. According to research (check out this LinkedIn article for some of my sources), those of us sporting reading glasses have better chances at sealing deals, getting promoted, and earning respect. This is a modern sequel for Revenge of the Nerds, a victory for us eye-challenged people, and yet another artifice women must resort to for a bit of recognition in this world. 😤
But knowledge is power, so whether you're pitching an investor or just reading a best-selling novel, the eyewear market has grown so much in the last few years that you won't lack stylish options. I've handpicked some favorites based on the most popular silhouettes, including a cool find from my last trip to Paris. A word of caution though: if you don't need prescriptions, try a blue light piece instead of fake clear lenses, people can see right through that (pun intended, sorry! ), and that'll only backfire.
