Hi there,
Not one family is perfect. Many of us sit at holiday tables with relatives as divided as the “United” States of America. Some of us are lucky enough to have a wonderful family, but they are all just as imperfect with their own brand of disfunction (I’m afraid nobody is imune).
And as always, women are the glue, the calm, the hostess, and the mediator, silently carrying the emotional weight so everyone else can enjoy their time. When you layer the current state of the world on top of it all, it’s safe to say that many of us are walking into some very tricky family gatherings this year.
So on this Christmas Day (if you celebrate), in lieu of a perfect Hallmark Christmas, I hope you are surrounded by love, steadiness, and a kind of peace that makes you totally unbothered, even if for just one day. May your day be blessed with people who make you feel appreciated and safe, whether they’re the ones you were born into or the ones you wisely chose along the way. Wishing you and yours a blissful, drama-free and very Merry Christmas! 🎄
